Bertrand Russell, atheist

Why not then assume a God? As my seemingly non-spiritual, non-religious father replied when I once asked him if he believed in God: you'd be a fool not to.
So, to give purpose to my life, I assumed a God.
And I assumed that my God was both my creator and my benefactor and I talked to my God and I prayed to my God.
Of course I had serious doubts every step of the way and even felt silly. But I gave it a try anyway - what the heck.
And to my surprise , it worked!
My prayers were almost always answered (although almost never in the way I expected). And I even experienced several instances that I would dare call miracles.
Had I not experienced it myself, I never would have believed it. And I don't expect you to believe it, either, until you try it for yourself.
I still have no idea of the big picture: God's involvement in the world at large, why there is pain and suffering, etc. But I am happy for what I have: what I feel is a real connection to God.
Just my experience, for what it's worth. I was a seeker but now have found what was sought.
So, as Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Try it! What have you got to lose?
